September 2012 Triangle-RDU Marketing, PR and Advertising Events

As summer fades and fall approaches, this month’s Triangle marketing, PR and advertising events offer a wealth of speakers, topics, and networking opportunities. Why not attend one, two, or more?

September 5 – Monthly AIGA Raleigh Community Meeting, 6:30 p.m., New Kind, 105 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh.  (Parking is available in the lot underneath the building.) All are invited to join us at our Monthly Community Meeting, held the first Wednesday of the month. There’s no better way to see what’s going on in the Triangle creative community, get involved, and participate in shaping the chapter’s growth. September 11NC Technology Association ‘All Things Tech’ Job Fair, 8:00-10:30 a.m., Raleigh Convention Center, 500 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh. CED, NCTA and Work in the Triangle have teamed up to sponsor a job fair to promote job openings in the tech industry. The job fair will take place the morning of the CED Tech Venture Conference 2012 which celebrates tech startups and growth companies from across the state. Expected attendance is 200+ job seekers. September 11Triangle IABC Monthly Professional Development Meeting on Merger Communications: Lessons Learned During the Progress Energy-Duke Energy Combination, 12:00 noon 1:30 p.m. at Marriott Crabtree Valley, 4500 Marriott Drive, Raleigh. Join us for a discussion with IABC member Sharon Hall, who led internal communications for the merger team. Learn about the challenges she and her team encountered during this unprecedented time of change at both companies, and how they worked to overcome them. September 11Raleigh Public Relations Society Annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards Banquet, 6:00 p.m.  at The Cardinal Club, 150 Fayetteville Street #2800, Raleigh. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m. and the dinner and awards ceremony will begin at 6:45 p.m. Shae Crisson, WTVD anchor and recipient of many public relations pitches, will emcee and speak at the event.
