August 7 – Monthly AIGA Raleigh Community Meeting, 6:30 p.m., New Kind, 105 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh.  (Parking is available in the lot underneath the building.) All are invited to join us at our Monthly Community Meeting. There’s no better way to see what’s going on in the Triangle creative community, get involved, and participate in shaping the chapter’s growth. Join us for a special evening to welcome our advertising, interactive, PR and marketing friends from near and far in celebration of creative talent, join us as we converge in Raleigh for one night of great music and awesome networking. Hosted by the American Advertising Federation’s Third District, the Johnny Folsom 4 take the stage at 8:30 pm and are followed by Jefferson Hart & The Ghosts of the Old North State at 10:00 pm. August 15 – NCPRSA August Skills Workshop: Leading Your Organization Through a Crisis, 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Lafayette Village, 8480 Honeycutt Road Suite 200, Raleigh. Judith Hoffman, author of Keeping Cool on the Hot Seat: Dealing Effectively with the Media in Times of Crisis will conduct this half-day crisis communications session on how to respond quickly and competently when faced with a crisis. You will leave with a template for a simple crisis communications plan that will help you to effectively handle a crisis situation.  Cost: $65 members and students, $85 nonmembers. August 15 Triangle AMA August Luncheon: Turn Top 10 Digital Analytics Trends into Action, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Brier Creek Country Club, 9400 Club Hill Drive, Raleigh. Join Chuck Hemann (@chuckhemann), Group Director, Analytics for W2O Group and co-author of Digital Marketing Analytics: Making Sense of Consumer Data in a Digital World, as he shares how companies big and small are turning analytics into action. During this session Chuck will offer specific examples of companies using analytics to fuel communications strategies, tactics and the ultimate development of content. August 21 – NCTA Emerging Tech & Trends Series, COSO Compliance’s Impact on the Tech Sector, 8:30-11:00 a.m. at 12 Davis Drive, RTP.
