May 6-8Digital Marketing For Business, Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S Salisbury Street, Raleigh. THE marketing and business information exchange and networking event, conference, and exhibition for business owners, entrepreneurs and managers. Digital Marketing for Business events are a different type of conference; in addition to “how-to” business learning sessions, networking opportunities, and exhibitors with special service offers, we have hands-on workshops, meet the speaker dinners, and other activities. May 7AIGA Raleigh Community Meeting, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at New Kind/Sparktivity, 105 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh. All are invited to join us at our Monthly Community Meeting. There’s no better way to see what’s going on in the Triangle creative community, get involved, and participate in shaping the chapter’s growth. Introductions start at 6:30. This month we are seeking your input on defining the value of AIGA, how to better engage with the community, and how to improve the community member experience. May 8Function Pink Developers Meetup: Fostering Collaboration with Pattern Libraries and Rapid Prototyping, 7:00 p.m. at Bandwidth, 900 Main Campus Drive, Venture Center III, 4th Floor, Raleigh. In this session we will review a case study from an enterprise-level development group traditionally staffed with 60+ developers and no designers and how they were able to implement a pattern library and rapid prototyping framework into their design and development process. Knight Professor of Advertising at UNC-Chapel Hill, for his outstanding contributions to advertising education. Anyone who has declared an advertising or communications-related major who is officially enrolled in an accredited college or university in the greater Triangle area (including Alamance, Guilford and Pitt counties); or an advertising student whose permanent residence is in the greater Triangle area and who is officially enrolled in an accredited college or university in the USA, is eligible for this scholarship. Call for Entries – Sir Walter Raleigh Awards

Entries are now being accepted for the Raleigh PR Society’s annual Sir Walter Raleigh Awards. With 24 categories – including two student categories – the awards are designed to showcase exemplary work by PR and communications professionals from across the state, from small, independent organizations to full-service agencies. Entries are due by 5 p.m. Friday, June 27. Entries for RPRS members are still only $45 for the first entry and $35 for each additional entry. Non-members can submit a first entry for $60 and subsequent entries for $50 each. Go to the RPRS website for more details:
