July 5 – Triangle AMA Content Marketing SIG (Special Interest Group), 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Centerline Digital, 509 W. North Street, Raleigh. The Content Marketing SIG, normally held the first Friday of each month, has a special day and time for July. This member-only round table event explores the principles of Content Marketing in depth. July 10 – AIGA Raleigh Community Meeting, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at New Kind, 105 Brooks Avenue, Raleigh. All are invited to join us at our Monthly Community Meeting. July 10 – TIMA WordPress Doctors, 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Hub Raleigh, 711 Hillsborough St, Raleigh. Join TIMA for a “get your hands dirty” WordPress event geared to fixing problems, understanding the platform and making it work! July 11 – Function Pink Developers Meetup on CSS Performance, 6:30 p.m. at Capstrat, 1201 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh. Code School has selected Function Pink as one of a handful of meetups from across the country to host a presentation via Skype about CSS performance with Code School instructor Nick Walsh. Nick is a front-end developer by way of design, having traded in Creative Suite for CSS methodologies and web standards. In his presentation, you’ll learn how advancements in CSS have quickly shifted the conversation from what you can do to what you shouldn’t do. This discussion goes into profiling CSS paint times and frame rates, optimizing selectors, the various implications of retina-friendly images, and common performance pitfalls in stylesheets. July 19 – NCTA 101 Webinar, 9:00-10:00 a.m. NCTA hosts a monthly web conference to provide an overview of programs and events along with helpful hints on how to navigate the web site and take advantage of all NCTA membership has to offer. This interactive call, hosted by NCTA staff and the Ambassador Welcome Team, will give participants the opportunity to ask questions and hear from current NCTA members about how their participation has benefited them and their business.
